Lyly Hamburg

Asian fusion in Rahlstedt. Play corner included, no extra charge.

Lyly isn’t marketing itself as a family restaurant. It’s a proper Asian fusion place in Rahlstedt serving Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese food, including a solid sushi menu. But somewhere along the way, whoever set it up decided to put a small play corner in the dining room, and that single decision makes it worth knowing about.

The corner has a mini kitchen, soft toys, puzzles and books. It’s in the main dining space, visible from the tables, so you’re not dispatching your child into a different room and hoping for the best. You order, you eat, they play. It’s not a big dramatic setup. It’s just thoughtful, and thoughtful is rare enough to mention.

The food is good. The menu is broad enough that something will land with most children, even the ones who’ve decided this week that they only eat beige things. Portions are generous and shareable. There’s no dedicated kids’ menu, but that’s fine.

Early evening on a weekday is the sweet spot: quieter, easier to get a table, and the play corner is less contested.
